The essentials every rider should know

No experience needed. In two evenings, you'll learn to handle the fixes that send most riders to the shop: flats, a dirty or worn chain, rubbing or weak brakes, and sloppy shifting.
Why take it with us
  • Small classes. Six students max, so you get real time with the instructor, not a demo you watch from the back.
  • Your bike, not a loaner. You learn on the bike you actually ride, so every skill applies the moment you leave.
  • Taught by working pros. Your instructor is a professional mechanic from our service team, with you for both sessions.
  • We'll store your bike. Leave it with us between sessions; no hauling it home and back.
  • Leave with it running better. Your bike gets cleaned, adjusted and checked as part of class.
  • 10% off parts and tools you buy during your course.
What you'll learn
Session 1: Wheels, tires and chain
  • Parts of your bike, and the 1-minute pre-ride safety check
  • Removing and reinstalling wheels (quick release, thru-axle and bolt-on)
  • Fixing a flat: patch it, replace the tube, and how tubeless setups work
  • Cleaning and lubing your drivetrain, and checking chain wear
Session 2: Brakes and shifting
  • Replacing, aligning and adjusting brake pads (rim and disc)
  • Brake cable tension, and knowing when brakes need a pro
  • Dialing in your rear shifting: barrel adjusters, indexing and limit screws
  • Diagnose-it challenge: find and fix the problems we've planted on a shop bike
Every session follows the same rhythm: in the first half, you work step by step alongside your instructor. In the second half, you do it yourself on your own bike while the instructor checks and corrects your work.
